Professor Nasar Meer steps into new role as Chair of the SHF Academic Committee

SHF Trustee Nasar Meer has been appointed as the new Chair of the Stuart Hall Foundation’s Academic Committee.

Nasar, who is Professor of Social and Political Science at the University of Glasow, and joined the Foundation as a Trustee in November 2022, will lead the long-standing dedicated committee of SHF Trustees and Associates responsible for steering the development of our academia-related work. This work includes supporting a network of Scholars, Fellows and Artists, alongside the development of our Academic partnerships.

“Stuart Hall often said he worked best amongst a community of thinkers, and I’m delighted to be taking over as Chair of the Academic Committee which works to support our international community of Scholars and Fellows. I’m indebted to Prof Claire Alexander for all her efforts and intend to continue to work to ensure the Academic Committee support interdisciplinary spaces for critical thinking and helps under-represented students access postgraduate education.”
