Hannah-Praise Israel

MA Scholar | Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust | 2021 - 2023

Hannah-Praise Israel has completed the post-graduate diploma in Working with Children, Young People and Families: A Psychoanalytic Observational Approach at the Tavistock Centre. This year she will be in the process of completing her baby observation as she hopes to pursue the Professional Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy at the Tavistock.

Hannah started as a children’s work leadership intern at the LifePoint Center. It was here that she discovered her passion and love for seeing children express themselves through play as well as her desire to help young people navigate difficult moments in life. After her time as an intern, she worked as a student leader at LifePoint managing a small team to provide a weekly therapeutic group, support, social activities and organized events that facilitated a safe space for young people. During her time as a student leader, Hannah completed her postgraduate certificate in counselling, where she developed her skills and passion for providing children and young people with a safe therapeutic space.

Within the last 4 years, Hannah has worked as a playworker and learning support assistant in a primary school specifically with children who have special needs and additional learning difficulties. Currently, Hannah has now secured her first job as a school counsellor within a primary school. Alongside this, she will be working with looked-after children as a support worker at St Christopher’s charity.
