Applications are now open for the Stuart Hall Scholarship at the University of Sussex, which the University offers every year to one Masters student in the Department of Media and Film. Previous Stuart Hall Scholars include Luiza Paiva, Marie Hasselberg, and Andrew O’Connor.
The Scholarship is worth £5,000 and is awarded as a tuition fee reduction. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must have accepted an offer of a full time place on a Masters starting in January 2021 in the Department of Media and Film. Courses in this department include:
- Cultural and Creative Industries MA January 2021
- Filmmaking MA January 2021
- Digital Media MA January 2021
- Digital Media Practice: Activism and Social Change MA January 2021
- Media and Cultural Studies MA January 2021
Applicants must also have, or expect to achieve, a first class honours or 2.1 degree from a UK university, or equivalent degree from an overseas institution.
There is particular interest towards applications from students focussing on areas of interest to Stuart Hall including Postcolonial and Diasporic Modernities; Cultural Studies; Race, Ethnicity and Visual Cultures; Radical Thinking on the Left.
