We would like to welcome Professor Claire Alexander and Jess Hall who joined our Board in March 2018.
Claire Alexander is Professor of Sociology at the School of Social Sciences, University of Manchester. She has researched, written and published on issues of race, ethnicity, youth and migration in Britain for over 25 years. She is the author of The Art of Being black (1996), The Asian Gang (2000) and The Bengal Diaspora: Rethinking Muslim Migration (2016) with Joya Chatterj and Annu Jalais.
Jess Hall is a filmmaker and cinematographer. His feature film credits include Hot Fuzz, The Spectacular Now and Ghost in the Shell. In 2009 Jess was invited to join the British Society of Cinematographers and in 2013 he became a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Based in California, Jess is a visiting lecturer at the American Film Institute.
The new Trustees replace Andrea Levy who resigned in January 2018.
