MA SCHOLAR | THE TAVISTOCK AND PORTMAN NHS FOUNDATION TRUST | 2018–2020
Sagal Adam Hassan is currently undergoing Doctoral Training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. Sagal was awarded the SHF / Tavistock studentship in 2018 whilst studying for an MA in Working with Children, Young People and Families: A Psychoanalytic Observational Approach at the Tavistock.
Previously to her studies at Tavistock, Sagal completed a Master’s Degree at UCL in Theoretical Psychoanalytic studies where she focused on the work of Freud, Klein, Lacan and Winnicott. Her dissertation, “Home is where we start from: A Winnicottian perspective on trauma and psychic survival among displaced people” was an attempt to bring psychoanalytic ideas into dialogue with questions of refugeehood and identity.
